What people are saying

Selecting the right community for yourself or a family member is a little like selecting a college.  If it feels right when you walk through the door, you know it's where you belong.  It also helps to hear what other people have to say about their experiences, to help you make an informed decision.    When you come in for a tour we invite you to take the opportunity to ask questions of our community members, from residents to staff.

What our residents are saying:

I am very happy living here.  I feel very comfortable, especially when I do not feel well.  There is someone to help me and that feels safe.  My apartment feels warm and sunny.  In enjoy the garden in the summer; its beauty and peacefulness.  My family loves my living in Portsmouth, so close by.

I have lived at the Mark Wentworth Home since October 28, 2009.  I consider it my home; I like it here.  Here, they care for all my needs and wants and there are many activities to participate in, if you wish.

I moved here on December 19, 2009 after my daughter had done very extensive research - she visited about five or six assisted living facilities and there was no question that this was the most promising, by far.  Of course, it's different than living on one's own, but it is so very comfortable.  The staff is very accommodating and I feel that it suits my purpose.  I am particularly fond of the Enrichment classes.

Family member feedback:

On the very first day that I entered the Mark Wentworth Home I felt welcomed.  Moving to a new place is not easy at any age, but even more challenging for the elderly.  Things could not have gone better!  The staff was very welcoming and eager to help my mother with a smooth transition.  My mind is at peace knowing that my mother is being very well cared for here at the Mark Wentworth Home.  It really does feel like home.

The Mark Wentworth Home is a miracle for my dad.  He sees people he knows every day, he recieves the assistance he needs to continue living an active life, and he enjoys the staff, the food and the wonderfully appointed surroundings.  The upbeat atmosphere and the stylish setting of the Mark Wentworth are beyond compare.  We are so grateful that our dad has found such a wonderful place to live.  Thank you all so very much.

From the moment you enter the building all is like the finest hotel at a luxury resort.  this is a very rare and special blessing for those who reside at MWH, as well as their families.  It sounds too good to be true, but it really is.  If you have any history with other elder care facilities you can judge from experience.  The attributes of MWH will shine through to you loud and clear.

Being a resident at the Mark Wentworth Home means active living, continual learning opportunities and receiving gracious support.  The staff is always available and smiling!  I thnk that MWH mirrors Portsmouth - a diverse community with cultural and social opportunities, and beauty around every corner.   My mother is happy, safe, and says "everyone is so solicitous."  Thank you, MWH, for bringing tranquility into our lives.
